Description:
London Wright thought she’d been in love before, but she hadn’t—not even close.

Then she met him.

Rugged and gorgeous, Loïc Berkeley, a special forces soldier is everything she’s ever wanted. Getting him to notice her was a challenge, but keeping his love is proving to be more difficult.

London’s used to getting what she wants so loving someone like Loïc is a humbling and somewhat terrifying experience. For everything she has in her life, he’s the one thing she can’t bear to lose.

Loïc Berkeley never wanted love. He views it as an unneeded distraction that causes nothing but pain. Love, for Loïc, always ends in disappointment.

Then he met her.

Spoiled, witty, and breathtakingly beautiful London Wright is his undoing. From the moment he laid eyes on her, he knew his life would never be the same. Though he tries to fight it, he finds himself falling for her.

Having lived a life full of sorrow, finding London brought Loïc rare happiness. Though his feelings for her are strong, is what they have powerful enough to break the cycle of his past?

When one is destined for heartbreak and loss, can love really change anything?

My Opinion

This is the third book I've read by this author now. When I requested Finding London her name sounded familiar, but I couldn't place where I'd heard it. It turns out I have both of her Beautiful Kind of Love books on my shelf in paperback!

Anyway, Finding London was a great read. It was simple and heartfelt as Loic and London discovered each other's flaws and moved past them. The story was a gentle grower as their relationship developed, and since this is only book one it meant that the characters bonded first rather than just dived into bed. There was an instant attraction, but the actual relationship was steady and paced well.

As for the plot, it was a nice read. I liked the past chapters that gave an insight into Loic's childhood, and helped give an understanding as to why he acted the way he did. Some parts of the book were predictable, and since this is a series there isn't a complete resolution. However, there isn't a major cliff hanger. If you want to read this book on its own it could be done as long as you don't mind filling in a few blanks yourself.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read. I may continue the series, depending in how I feel upon book 2's release, but I'd recommend it.
